Calem protecting Serena

FINALLY! It's done! - 1/18/2016

I've been in love with this shop since I've been playing X a lot recently. I've also been trying to get better at drawing humans. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Basically I wanted to draw Calem protecting Serena, so I referenced the scene in Spirited Away where Haku protects Chihiro like this.

I wrote a little story to go with it:

He grabbed me so suddenly. I was surprised, and the air was swept out of my lungs as he pulled me with him. "Calem? What are you-"

"Shh!" he interuppted me with urgency in his voice. I contemplated speaking again, but if he was telling me to be quiet, it really must be important. I struggled to keep up with his pace as he pulled my arm in his direction, running towards the forest. He glanced back at me.

As we entered the forest, he took care not to trip me on any stray brush as we slowed our pace a bit. He gravitated towards an old abandoned brick house that had been overgrown in the plants surrounding it. Ducking underneath thick vines, we hid crouched against the brick wall. He had his arms over me, my back to the wall while he faced me. He turned his head, seeming to attempt scanning the sky.

"Calem..." I whsipered. My heart was beating so fast, not only from running, but also because he was so close to me. He turned back to me. Our faces are so close.

"Be quiet, Serena." he breathed, a sternness in his voice. "They're looking for us." he explained. They? Who? Who would be looking for us? I wondered, going through all the people, or things, taht could possibly want anything to do with us.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of helicopters above the forest. Despite the thick leaves and branches above, the sound of helicopters whirring was still quite apparent. The leaves above seemed to move with the breeze caused by them. Calem pulled me closer to him. I could feel his hand on my back, and I could feel the beating of his heart. He was so close to me. I sat there wide eyed, and terrifed. But his warmth made me feel better, as he grabbed me protectively and watched behind us. He turned back to me. Staring into his deep blue eyes, I could feel my cheeks beginning to burn. I averted his gaze. His hot breath was apparent on my skin.

The sound of helicopters faded, and Calem loosened his grip on me. I was still confused. What was going on? Who could want us? "Calem..." I started, but he interrupted me again.

"Serena... there's some other organization here in Kalos. They've chased off the remains of Team Flare and they've found out about us, and how we stopped Team Flare... they want us, Serena. They want to imprison us so we can't stop them, whatever it is they want to do." It was a lot to take in. Another organization? What were they called? Where are they from? How do they know who we are? How did they know WHERE we were?

"Calem...who are they? What do they want with us?" I asked. I could still feel his heart beating next to mine. His chest was pressed against me.

"They call themselves "Team Rocket". They're world famous... that is, for causing trouble." It sounds like Team Flare to me, at least, it sounds similar. Why can't we take care of them the same way?

"What is it about them that stops us from doing anything?" I ask, a little offended that he underestimates us.

"They're far more dangerous than Team Flare. Team Flare was a joke, Serena. We can't simply go in and take them out. Listen... they want you more than they want me. They want to use you as bait. I'm not letting them take you. I can't let them hurt you, Serena." his words made my cheeks flush even more.

"C-Calem..." I stuttered.

"Don't worry... I won't let anything happen to you. Just stay close to me."
